David brings more than 15 years of experience in financial services, with a diverse background spanning corporate services, operations, compliance, governance, technology, administration and organizational leadership.
His career began as a co-op student while studying at the University of Prince Edward Island, which led to a full-time role and more than a decade of experience in back-office operations and marketing. He later transitioned into financial advice before moving into increasingly senior roles supporting advisors, leadership and operations across Atlantic Canada.
Today, as Director of Corporate Services at CU Financial Management, David oversees a broad portfolio of corporate functions, including human resources, finance, technology, administration, compliance, privacy and organizational operations. His role combines day-to-day operational leadership with longer-term planning, policy development, governance and organizational improvement.
David has a particular interest in turning complex operational and regulatory requirements into practical, understandable processes. His work includes developing and strengthening corporate policies and controls, supporting regulatory and compliance initiatives, advancing technology and information-security practices, and identifying opportunities to make the organization more efficient and effective. Recent work has included significant updates to CU Financial Management’s Privacy and AML/ATF frameworks.
A collaborative and solutions-focused leader, David works closely with employees, advisors, senior leadership, the Board and external partners. He enjoys solving problems, improving how things work and helping people navigate change. He is equally comfortable working through the details of an operational issue or contributing to broader organizational strategy.
David is also actively involved in the community and currently serves as Treasurer of Spinal Cord Injury PEI, where he contributes his experience in financial oversight, governance and organizational administration.
Outside the office, David enjoys road trips, exploring Atlantic Canada and capturing scenic landscapes with his drone. A passionate foodie, he also enjoys experimenting in the kitchen and discovering local restaurants.
